The first difference lies in the patient’s age when first diagnosed. Type 1 diabetes is more common in patients under the age of 20 years so it is often called juvenile onset, whereas type 2 attack aged 35 years and over, or so-called adult onset. Use of the term juvenile onset and adult onset is now eliminated because in fact the type 1 and 2 diabetes can strike at any age. However, the tendency is the same that is type one more attack at a young age and type 2 in old age.

Next is the posture and stature infected. Patients with type 1 diabetes generally have a lean physique, while type 2 diabetes is more common in people who are categorised big overweight (overweight) and obesity. Diabetes type 1 and 2 are also distinguished by the cause. Type 1 diabetes is caused by damage to the pancreas and insulin production is reduced, while type 2 is caused by insulin resistance in the sense enough insulin but it does not work well in controlling blood sugar levels.

Due to different causes, both types of diabetes treatment is also not the same. People with type 1 diabetes require insulin by injection or insulin pump while type 2 diabetic patients consume enough swallow oral medication or drug. Type 1 diabetes is less predictable and preventable, cause a genetic disorder that is inborn. Another case with type 2 diabetes is highly preventable because it usually strikes people with unhealthy diet and less exercise.

Judging from the comparison of cases of type 1 diabetes include 10-15 percent of the total number of people with diabetes. The number of cases of type 2 diabetes, especially in developed and developing countries reached 85-90 percent of all people with diabetes of all types.
